Ladywell overwhelm Bromley in BBDBA Triples League

Ladywell had their biggest win in a long time in the Bromley, Beckenham & District Bowling Association's Triples League competition on Friday 2nd July, beating Bromley BC by an aggregate score of 73-10.

The BBDBA Triples League involves two triples playing home and away matches over 18 ends at the same time. There are two points available for each match win, plus two points for the overall aggregate victory. And Ladywell's trios of Bernie Jermin, Normal Lewis and Mark Simmons (playing at Ladywell) and Marion Edwards, Phil Welch and Des Marrett (playing at Bromley) excelled themselves.

The match at Bromley went Ladywell's way from the start and with excellent shots from all three players, the final score after 18 ends was a Ladywell win by 30-8. Not to be outdone, the Ladywell team playing at home dominated their match from the start and ran out eventual winners by 43-2.

So, it was a strong winning start for Ladywell in the Triples League, with a maximum six points. But with four more matches to play and only the top two in the league qualifying for the semi-finals, there's still a long way to go. Good luck to the teams playing the second match next Friday against the Met Police Bowling Club.
